Skinboosters are an advanced injectable treatment that uses highly purified and stabilized hyaluronic acid in fluid form to deeply hydrate the skin from within, improving its radiance, elasticity, and firmness. Unlike the hyaluronic acid used in fillers, skinbooster formulations are specifically designed to distribute evenly throughout the dermal tissue without creating volume, acting exclusively on the intrinsic quality of the skin with a natural and long-lasting "glow" effect.
• Dry, dull, and devitalized skin, to restore radiance and deep hydration from within • Fine wrinkles and dehydration lines, especially small wrinkles formed by loss of hydration and tone • Neck and décolleté, areas particularly prone to premature aging due to thin skin and sun exposure • Hands, to improve the quality of thin, dehydrated skin that reveals tendons and underlying structures • Periocular area, to soften fine wrinkles and improve the texture of delicate skin around the eyes
• Pregnancy and breastfeeding, as a precautionary principle in the absence of specific studies • Active skin infections in the treatment area, such as herpes, dermatitis, or inflammatory acne • Known allergies to hyaluronic acid or product components • Ongoing anticoagulant therapies, which increase the risk of bruising at injection points • Active autoimmune diseases, which may alter the inflammatory response to treatment
The treatment takes 20-30 minutes and is performed in the office. Micro-injections are administered with a fine needle or microcannula at predefined points, evenly distributing the product in the dermis. Recovery is immediate: slight wheals and redness at injection points may occur, resolving within a few hours. Avoiding makeup, sauna, and intense physical activity for 12-24 hours afterward is recommended to optimize product absorption.
A topical anesthetic cream is applied 15-20 minutes before treatment to minimize discomfort from micro-injections. Latest-generation skinbooster products contain integrated lidocaine in their formulation, which progressively numbs the area during injection. The treatment is generally well tolerated, with discomfort comparable to classic biorevitalization.
Initial improvements in radiance and hydration are noticeable after the very first session. However, optimal results are achieved after the complete protocol of 2-3 sessions spaced 3-4 weeks apart, when the stabilized hyaluronic acid reaches full integration into the dermal tissue. The effect lasts 6-9 months and a maintenance session every 4-6 months is recommended to preserve the achieved skin quality over time.
The fundamental difference lies in the treatment goal. Fillers use high-density, high-viscosity hyaluronic acid to fill wrinkles, add volume to cheekbones and lips, and redefine facial contours: they therefore act on shape and volume. Skinboosters instead use fluid, stabilized hyaluronic acid that distributes evenly in the dermis to hydrate and improve skin texture, elasticity, and radiance: they therefore act on quality. The two treatments are complementary and can be combined in the same aesthetic protocol.
